Leave No Trace Trainer Development

The Baltimore Area Council's Conservation Committee will host two additional Leave No Trace Trainer Development Courses this coming fall and spring of next year.  The separate courses will be held on October 22 - 24, 2010 and April 8 - 10, 2011 at Broad Creek Memorial Scout Reservation. 

Participants will receive in-depth training in the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace and will become certified as LNT Trainers by the Boy Scouts of America and by the National Leave No Trace Center.  Instruction will focus on outdoor ethics and techniques for minimizing impacts to the outdoors caused by recreation and Scout Camping in campsites, on the trail and in the backcountry. 

Individuals planning trips to National High Adventure Bases, camp staff members, unit leaders and those in district or council training positions are urged to attend.  Once completed individuals will be certified to offer Leave No Trace Awareness Sessions for scout groups. 

The fee for the weekend is set at $40.00 per person which includes camping fees, food and instructional resources.  Attendees should be Adult Volunteer Scouters or Registered Scouts at least 14 years of age.
